Veteran's Health Administration Expands Use of HandySoft to Accelerate Benefits Eligibility Processing for Veterans

Vienna, VA - January 22, 2007 -

HandySoft Global Corp., a leading provider of business process management (BPM) solutions, today announced that Veterans Health Administration (VHA) has expanded its use of HandySoft to include automating the income verification portion of the veteran enrollment system.

VHA, part of the US Department of Veterans Affairs, provides more than 25 million veterans and their families with patient care and health benefits through 1,264 facilities nationwide.

VHA will implement HandySoft’s BizFlow® as part of the Enrollment System Version 3.1 Income Verification Replacement and Workflow Integration Project. HandySoft will provide detailed project management and status reports, finalized process and design requirements, software development and quality control, software builds, and deployment documentation.

This project is a component of the Enrollment System Redesign (ESR), which will replace and consolidate the legacy systems and the Income Verification Matching (IVM) system used to support veterans’ enrollment and determine eligibility for healthcare benefits.

Ultimately, BizFlow will integrate with ESR to eliminate manual, paper-based eligibility and enrollment workflows, transforming what were lengthy, potentially error prone processes into simple, transparent work items with same-day turn around. Furthermore, BizFlow provides business users greater control over process and form changes. Rather than asking developers to make changes, VHA employees can simply access the form and apply the change. This control limits the need for outside development, which lowers costs and shortens turn around time.
