HCL and HandySoft Awarded Business Process Management (BPM) Application / Framework by State of Nebraska

Nebraska Worker’s Compensation Court Streamlines Business Processes with BizFlow®.

Falls Church, VA - July 28, 2008 -

The State of Nebraska Worker’s Compensation Court (NWCC) has awarded HCL America, Inc., a global business process consulting and outsourcing company in partnership with HandySoft, a leading global provider of BPM software and solutions, a contract to create and deploy a Business Process Management (BPM) Application / Framework.

Says Randy Cecrle, Director of IT, “Over the last four years, this court has invested substantial time and effort to becoming a ‘paperless’ court. Through this work we have learned that to get rid of paper, data and documents must be tied to human workflows to automate events without sacrificing process visibility. For example, a petition filed in the Clerk's Office might result in some form of settlement in Legal that may include rehabilitation services from Vocational Rehabilitation. While each section can be a point of entry for a discrete transaction, each of these transactions can spawn others that would share many of the same data attributes but be involved in a different process with an independent set of events and goals. Data must be tied to process to make sure we can track and report on all events as workers compensation filings pass hands for reviews and approvals. This is where a BPM tool adds real value to process automation and a paperless environment.”

Says Vasu Srinivasan, Vice President of Government Solutions for HCL America, “In working with a dozen states in the area of workers compensation, we have become experts in meeting their needs to streamline and automate business processes. Nebraska had fostered collaboration at the data level. However, they never had streamlined the entire process life-cycle. NWCC saw an opportunity to use a BPM framework to automate both human-centric and system-centric processes such as informal dispute resolutions. We decided that the best solution for the client was HandySoft’s BizFlow® BPM solution platform to deliver on NWCC’s requirements for becoming a paperless environment. Together with HandySoft, we will deliver a very flexible and scalable Workers Compensation System that exactly meets their business needs.”

NWCC’s objectives are to streamline workers compensation processes while separating process management rules and controls from presentation and structured data interaction. The new system will provide a unified environment and a collaborative methodology for developing business solutions, making it easier to communicate, analyze, optimize, measure, and manage business processes across the enterprise.

Says Bruce McLeod, CEO of HandySoft Global Corp., “HCL is a great partner. We are very enthusiastic about our relationship with them. Customers with HCL include State of New York, State of Georgia, and now State of Nebraska. Since 1991 our focus has been to develop software that is easy to install, deploy, and use for creating value-based solutions. This win at State of Nebraska further validates that BizFlow® is a great platform for streamlining business processes, whatever those processes might be.”
