HandySoft Announces BizFlow® Customer U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Win in Gartner’s Inaugural Business Process Management Excellence Awards

NRC wins Gartner BPM Excellence Award for “Out of the BPM Box Delivery”

Falls Church, VA - September 11, 2009 -

HandySoft Global Corp., a leading provider of Business Process Management software and solutions, today announced that its customer the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission won one of Gartner Research’s Inaugural Business Process Management Excellence Awards1

Submissions were evaluated by a team of Gartner analysts who evaluated and selected three winners based on a strategic framework developed by Gartner to help companies maximize the probability of success. The five layers of the framework include: Building the BPM Competency, Furthering BPM as a Discipline, Leveraging BPM Technology, Attaining BPM Metrics and Performance, and Delivering Innovative Solutions.

“Excellent BPM strategies become almost immediately apparent as soon as you hear them,” said Jim Sinur, research vice president at Gartner, in a press release issued by Gartner.2 Elise Olding, research director at Gartner, continued in the same press release,, “The winners stand out as shining examples of successfully implementing BPM and the positive impact that it can have on an organization.”2

Says Harry Clarke, CEO of HandySoft, “Congratulations to NRC. In my opinion, winning a Gartner Business Process Management Excellence Award is a great accomplishment for NRC. I believe that Gartner analysts are experts in BPM product functionality and implementation requirements and earning their recognition requires hard work, innovating thinking, and smart oversight. NRC uses BizFlow in their Electronic Document and Action Tracking System (EDATS) to push the boundaries of BPM past structured workflows into highly unstructured processes, the zone where Knowledge Workers take ownership for analysis and response. This innovation of tying together structured and unstructured processes is how HandySoft is helping organizations such as NRC extend the value of BPM into all areas of their strategic business operations.”

NRC will be presenting their award-wining case study, on Oct 6th at the 2009 Gartner Business Process Management Summit in Orlando.

EDATS leverages BizFlow BPM and OfficeEngine, an unstructured process execution capability, to streamline actions associated with correspondence, incident handling, policy development, congressional mandates, corporate oversight, budget requests and more. EDATS supports project initiation and action tracking among 18 offices and 4000 employees enabling NRC to achieve its mission with complete visibility, efficiency, and compliance to regulations.

HandySoft will be exhibiting at Gartner Business Process Management Summit 2009 demonstrating solutions like EDATS as well as other customer applications.
