HandySoft, Business Objects Team-up for Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance

Business Objects Providing Advanced Graphical and Drill-Down Reporting for HandySoft's SOXA Accelerator

Vienna, VA - December 06, 2004 - HandySoft Global Corporation, a leading provider of business process management (BPM) solutions, and Business Objects, the leading provider of business intelligence (BI) solutions, today formally announced their OEM partnership to offer advanced reporting features as a part of HandySoft's Sarbanes-Oxley Accelerator solution. For the past several months, Business Objects has helped HandySoft deliver key compliance metrics to its Sarbanes-Oxley customers, including Global 500 companies such as Staples and United Technologies.

"To facilitate our Sarbanes-Oxley compliance efforts, we needed a tool that would provide a central repository for our control documentation, enable us to offer compliance reporting to senior management and produce auditable evidence of internal control testing to our external auditors," said Christine Komola, Senior Vice President and Corporate Controller at Staples. "HandySoft's SOXA Accelerator integrates automation of our ongoing internal control documentation and testing with the wide array of capabilities needed to ensure compliance, including the business intelligence and reporting capabilities of Business Objects."

The majority of HandySoft's Sarbanes-Oxley customers are using advanced reporting capabilities provided by Business Objects as a part of version 2 of the SOXA Accelerator, released in May 2004. This includes accurate, up-to-date reports on the real-time status of auditing and issues relating to internal control effectiveness. It also offers enhanced, customizable, role-specific dashboard views that present the appropriate level of detailed information necessary for issue identification and real-time process monitoring.

"Sarbanes-Oxley compliance solutions should produce detailed and summarized reports documenting the controls assessment and related issues, as well as supporting disclosure reports and regulatory filings. For example, one offering is integrated with very sophisticated business intelligence technology that is leveraged for reporting," wrote Paul Hamerman, Vice President, Enterprise Applications, Forrester Research. In his March 2004 report, Sarbanes-Oxley Solutions - Invest Now Or Pay Later, he adds, "Solutions should provide a real-time, role-based view that provides an appropriate level of insight to ongoing compliance activities. Drilldown capabilities that show increased detail at the level of a specific activity must be provided."

"Based on our ability to integrate our solutions and deliver key compliance metrics through Business Objects-enabled reporting, we are planning on expanding our relationship with Business Objects," said Stuart Claggett, Chief Operating Officer of HandySoft Global Corp. "Our corporate visions align well with one another. We both help companies achieve improved corporate performance management by defining the metrics to gather, collecting that data from disparate systems, and presenting it to business users in the most comprehensive and relevant manner."

"Business Objects recently launched a complementary Sarbanes-Oxley analytic solution, and we are committed to working with HandySoft to help each other grow our businesses," said Wyatt Mullin, vice president of global OEM at Business Objects. "HandySoft's SOXA Accelerator, with the advanced reporting capabilities powered by Business Objects, is helping companies assess and monitor internal controls. This can be used in conjunction with other offerings from Business Objects aimed at helping companies consolidate financials, provide drill down into transaction level details for verification, as well as providing advanced analytics to spot trends and improve decision making."
