BizFlow's Automated Processes Provide Ability to Re-use Adobe® Forms Data, Leading To Cost Reductions, Increased Transaction Speed and Reduced Error Rates at Government Agencies
Many government agencies use Adobe's Portable Document Format (PDF) to transform their paper forms into electronic documents. While BizFlow has supported the use of Adobe PDF files as a part of the management of many government processes (such as grant management or application processing), HandySoft's enhanced integration with Adobe now allows this to take place with little or no programming. Now, BizFlow users will simply require that the creator of any form uses a naming convention when the form object is defined in Adobe. Using this naming convention, BizFlow now automatically recognizes these fields and matches them to variables previously defined in the process.
"Vendors are making investments to deploy e-forms technology in desktop-accessible applications, and government organizations [for example, the U.S. Army] are investing in large e-forms installations," said Rita Knox, Research Vice President, Gartner, in a January 2005 research report entitled Companies Should Align Their Structured and Unstructured Data. "Through 2006, XML-enabled e-forms will at least double in use as a standard enterprise document format (0.7 probability). XML e-forms integrate data-centric information with a front-end presentation to users. E-forms also provide a mechanism for users to enter data."
