KTF's BizFlow® Deployment Wins Gold Award From WARIA And WfMC
HandySoft Recognized for Vision, Market Leadership, and Technologic Innovation
HandySoft Global Corp., a leading provider of business process management (BPM) solutions, today announced that its technology has received Gold honors in the 2006 Global Excellence Awards for innovation and excellence in BPM & Workflow for the Pacific Rim, for the implementation of the technology at a mobile communications company in Korea. This is the fifth consecutive year that HandySoft's technology has won a Global Excellence award and the fourth time it has earned top honors.
The Gold Award recognizes HandySoft's deployment of its BPM platform BizFlow® at KT Freetel Co. Ltd. (KTF), Korea's second largest mobile communications company. KTF is using BizFlow to automate and standardize operational processes, re-engineer inefficient workflows, improve work cycle times and provide a platform to foster continued process improvement.
Through its use of BizFlow, KTF has realized cost savings, increased revenues and productivity improvements. For example, by using BPM to reduce customer service initiations, KTF has internally increased sales by 250 million Korean won. The BPM solution has reduced the time from new contract completion to opening of the service by 50 percent, thus reducing the roaming charges that customers would typically incur during this time. Moreover, the roaming opening process status can be checked in real time, causing idle time to decrease by an average of 40 hours.
By using BizFlow to make all work processes highly visible and shorten each work process life cycle, KTF has achieved a 10-15 percent cost reduction based on work hours and cut labor cost required for process improvement by 10 million Korean won per month. In addition to improving resource productivity, KTF increased revenue by shortening the product development time span and improved customer responsiveness by speeding up data collection. By reducing the period of customer data collection from five days to real time, KTF can immediately classify data as a complaining customer or a VIP and develop the appropriate response. In the future, KTF will continue to grow its business by applying the BPM solution to all of KTF's work processes in an effort to make processes visible as well as an asset to the company.
"A customer-oriented focus is key to achieving market leadership in the telecom arena," said Chae-Deck Kim, vice president, IT Service Group, KTF. "Creating customer satisfaction-oriented processes that are integrated with back-end company systems allows us more flexibly to attract, serve and keep customers who are sensitive to new technology and service. We evaluated a number of BPM platforms and HandySoft's BizFlow came out on top; to date, the solution has been instrumental in meeting our demands, satisfying business process improvement goals and strengthening our competitive edge."
"HandySoft is honored to receive this prestigious industry recognition as we continue to differentiate ourselves in the BPM market," said Brian Boxman, chief operating officer, HandySoft. "Our collaboration with KTF underscores our commitment to customer success and innovation. The implementation of BizFlow has provided KTF with a future-oriented infrastructure which will allow the company to flexibly cope with their highly competitive business environment."
The Global Excellence Awards are used to recognize organizations that have demonstrably excelled in implementing innovative solutions to meet strategic business objectives. Sponsored by The Workflow Management Coalition (WfMC) and the Workflow and Reengineering International Association (WARIA), the Global Excellence Awards are now in their 17th year. This year, the awards ceremony will be held in conjunction with the Business Process Management Group's (BPMG) Process 2006 Conference and Expo in London on September 19. Additionally, the case study outlining KTF's implementation of HandySoft's BizFlow will be published in the annual volume of Excellence in Practice by Future Strategies Inc.
"Successes stories like KTF clearly demonstrate the growing recognition of business processes as core business assets," said lead judge and BPM Industry Analyst Derek Miers. "KTF is using BPM to help it further develop competitive advantage in the marketplace, leveraging the technology to continuously drive innovation. The implementation and impact demonstrated in this case study were exemplary."
