BizFlow® BPM Adaptors

As a leading Enterprise BPMS, BizFlow® is renowned for its powerful features and exceptional usability in human-centric and document-centric business process management.

“We evaluated many different solutions, but none of those products seemed to integrate well with our current portal architecture…[At a Gartner event] we asked many experienced users for recommendations on BPM tools. The response was BizFlow® from HandySoft...

“Administering our subcontractor invoicing was one of our most complicated processes. Now it’s one of the least. Invoices are scanned into the server by the accounts payable specialist. BizFlow® automatically retrieves the data every 10 minutes through an event response adaptor, which initiates the invoicing process. The specialist validates the data, adds project and purchase order numbers, then routes the invoice to the accounts payable processing team. Processing team members can view all invoices available for processing through the portlets in our corporate portal and then select work by the vendor names for which they are responsible. A team member attaches the appropriate files, fills out other routing data, and sends the invoice for approval. Once approved by project management, the team member posts it to the Deltek Costpoint ERP system. Costpoint then cuts a check. BizFlow® is continuously monitoring the accounting system for the check payment and then automatically notifies both business operations and project management. Using BizFlow®, we reduced subcontractor invoice processing time by over 50%—a very significant increase in efficiency.”

“About 1,000 people use BizFlow® on a daily basis. That number will increase to all SRA employees as we roll out new applications.”

Enabling complete automation throughout the entire process life-cycle entails integration as well. Processes such as accounts payables, purchasing, lending and claims often require connecting people with forms, data and documents found in third-party applications such as portals, document management systems and ERP packages. And there may be needs to incorporate data from Web sources (e.g, ChoicePoint, Post Office) to collect and validate user information.

BizFlow® customers enjoy integration-centric BPM capabilities with SOA functionality and out-of-the-box Adaptors that dramatically reduce the level of effort of deploying workflow applications spanning both internal and external sources of data and documents.

Event-Response Adaptor

BizFlow provides an Event-Response Adaptor (ERA) that constantly polls data sources for updates. New documents and data hitting the database automatically trigger a workitem for review.

For example, customers use ERA to initiate Accounts Payables workflows as newly scanned images, data and documents hit a database or EDMS.

EDMS Adaptors

Many organizations have an Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) for document and records management.

BizFlow BPM and EDMS packages highly compliment each other for streamlining document-intensive processes where the document plays an important role in capturing data and/or highlighting important facts.

BizFlow EDMS and Portal adaptors include:

HandySoft also provides an EDMS SDK to create new adaptors for other EDMS vendor products.

Application Integration Adaptors

Through Web services, HandySoft enables point-and-click system integration for rapid ROI and deployment. Web Services are Web-based application programs that are openly available via the Internet. Web Services provide a way for systems and applications from different companies to seamlessly work together due to standards such as SOAP and XML.

HandySoft works with Web Services and APIs for integrating BizFlow with an enterprise service bus (ESB), application integration platform (e.g., IBM MQ), or application directly (e.g., SAP). For example, using the new BizFlow Web Services API, custom C#/.NET and Java/Axis applications can perform through Web Services the same BizFlow functions that one can perform using the BizFlow Java Component API.

The BizFlow Web Services APIs are based on the BizFlow Java Component APIs, where generally one Web service represents one Java Component.

BizFlow system adaptors include:

  • IBM MQ
  • MS MQ
  • Entrust PKI
  • Web Services API
  • BizFlow Java Component API
  • BizFlow Java Base API
  • BizFlow COM API
  • BizFlow SOAP API
  • API SDK
