BizFlow® for Compliance

BIZFLOW® ENFORCES POLICIES AND INTERNAL CONTROLS THROUGH PROCESS AUTOMATION

Whether it’s Sarbanes-Oxley compliance for public companies, NERC compliance for utilities, CMS compliance for Health Plan providers, OSHA compliance for manufacturing facilities or any other regulatory mandate, organizations must document and communicate policies, periodically test and audit processes and look to technology to help automate activities where possible to enforce compliance and minimize risks.

HandySoft offers a unique two prong approach to compliance. First, by providing the out-of-box BizFlow® Compliance application for the management of Internal Controls as well as Compliance Solutions built on BizFlow® Plus ,used to automate alerts, notifications and other critical process activities that are often performed manually.

For example, many processes need structure enforced upon tasked activities to meet regulatory requirements. The review and approvals of purchase requisitions, the assignment of access control to a given business system by the IT or the review of pricing are among many of these manual, paper or email based processes. Without an automated approach, these activities lack structure and control putting them at risk for errors and mishandling of critical processes.

Many of the processes companies automate related to compliance include:

  • Procurement
  • Invoice/Payables Processing
  • Expense Reporting
  • HR Processes
  • IT Access Control Requests
  • Change Management
  • Contracts Management
  • Inspections

BIZFLOW® PREVENTS OR DETECTS INTERNAL CONTROL FAILURES AND OTHER COMPLIANCE RISKS

BizFlow® BPM allows an organization to prevent or detect procedures from being performed incorrectly by automating the routing of information and documentation in accordance with policy rules thereby enforcing the controls and minimizing or eliminating any risks associated with non-conformance.

The basics of automating a process consist of first modeling the process (documenting the flow and steps), then defining the roles, users or groups responsible for the given steps of the process and finally documenting the policy rules, for example, authorization limits of purchasing activities. Once defined, electronic forms are created and mapped to each step of the process. These forms are used to electronically capture and route information between members of the organization following the process steps, routing assignments and policy rules defined in the process model.
